Senior Big Data Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Big Data Engineer that wants to help build a cutting edge platform and is excited about digital assets, financial markets, and big data.

You will spend time on

  • Working on interesting and complex technical challenges
  • Designing end-to-end solutions that process and store petabytes of data
  • Writing performant, clean and well tested code
  • Using Continuous Delivery practices and DevOps tools to deliver software
  • Defining big data best practices and guidelines
  • Working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment
  • Enjoying a high degree of autonomy, contributing to ideas and shaping architecture
  • Working on a high performance distributed system

What we are looking for

  • 8+ years of recent hands-on coding and software design experience
  • Fluent in at least two programming languages, and deep expertise with either Java, Scala, Go, or Python
  • Experience in implementing scalable and reliable services using big data processing frameworks and tools like Hadoop, EMR, Pig, Hive, Databricks, and equivalents.
  • Experience with designing and managing data workflows using orchestration tools such as Airflow, Luigi, Dagster, and similar technologies.
  • Experience working in stream processing frameworks such as Flink or Storm
  • Experience in establishing and promoting high standards in pipeline monitoring, data validation, testing, etc.
  • Knowledge of creating efficient data models for analytical/operational use
  • Passionate about big data problem, distributed systems, and an appetite for learning and growing
  • Experience with the DevOps mindset, infrastructure as code, Continuous Delivery and TDD
  • Hands-on experience with AWS, cloud native architectures, Kubernetes, Docker, etc.
  • Bachelor’s, master’s, or doctorate degree in a related field, or an intriguing reason for not having one
  • Excellent communication skills

 You will:

Controller - US

The Team:

Our team is working with industry thought leaders defining the digital assets industry. We solve real problems for pre-trade, post-trade, risk, compliance and reporting for financial institutions embracing digital assets.

The Opportunity:

We are looking for an experienced Controller that has passion for digital assets, financial markets, and bleeding edge technology.

You will:

  • Design accounting procedures and processes adequate to achieve the department's goals and cross-organizational objectives.
  • Develop processes for financial statement reporting and the financial statement close process.
  • Maintain the enterprise recourse planning (ERP) system and financial operating metrics, and review journal accounting entries for accuracy.
  • Review accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP) as part of working capital management (WCM is the process of monitoring a company's assets and labilities to maintain sufficient cash flow to meet operating costs).
  • Maintain and enforce a documented system of accounting policies and procedures to ensure the team is following set processes that are repeatable daily, weekly, and monthly.
  • Coordinate annual audit and tax processes to ensure compliance with statutory deadlines; recommend benchmarks to measure the performance of the accounting team.
  • Provide overall management of relationships with outsourced accounting firms; provide guidance to a team of accountants; comply with local, state and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.

Minimum requirements: Master’s degree in accountancy and 18 months’ experience in similar position.
